Luigy Garica is again winning accolades with his artwork. The Nacogdoches High School senior’s “Blue Sky Tiger” was selected for the 2026 txEDCON – TASA/TASB Exhibition presented by the Texas Art Education Association.
Last spring, Luigy’s “Cowboy” work won the Texas Congressional District 17 art contest and is now on display in the U.S. Capitol. Luigy’s art teacher at NHS is Maranda Marshall.
Luigy’s latest effort was selected to represent Nacogdoches ISD at the statewide exhibition, held earlier this month, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, part of the joint convention held by Texas Association of School Administrators and Texas Association of School Boards.
Emeline Carpenter Elementary fifth-grader Fernando Servin also entered a work in the contest (also shown in this post with Luigy’s work). Fernando’s teacher at Carpenter is Susan Allman.
