This next week will be very busy. Please note that the Monday memo is two pages so we could get it all in.
Monday Memo 10-24-22 Parents (Spanish)
I want to give you a personal invitation to join me Tuesday night for Coffee and Connections. I am wanting to take the time this year to have opportunities just to have conversations with parents about questions you may have, what you need from me, the teachers, or the school. I want this to be a time to just have an informal conversation where you can ask what you want to get the answer to. I will have topics we will discuss ready. This week will be social media, but if we have other topics you feel are more important, that is what I want us to talk about. Only 15 minutes of this time will be for me to share. The rest is for us to have straight conversations.
Also, you do not want to miss the Fall Festival. PTA does an amazing job setting this up every year. We ALL have a great time. Also, if you take some great pictures of your child having fun at the festival and want to share them with the school, send them to me. We can put them up or maybe use them in our yearbook. Also, don’t forget to go to the Book Fair while you are here.
I want to say a big Thank You to Mrs. Ladedra Wade-Anthony for agreeing to present at our Parent-Led faculty meeting Thursday. Part of our Title 1 requirements each year is that a parent leads our faculty in a meeting that will benefit our teachers in education, parent needs, teacher/parent relationships, or working with students. If you are one of our parents and have a topic to share with us, please let me know.
Thursday is also our Adjective parade. This is a great time to let our students have fun dressing up and learning some describing words. For dressing up, Halloween costumes are not allowed. Any costume that is scary, has blood or fake zombie skin, or any weapon accessories will not be able to participate. Remember to keep this appropriate since our kinder friends will be included. Those costumes really scare our babies.
Lastly, if you came to parent orientation, you know I have made a push this year to have our students participate in affirmations. One study from Harvard showed that 80% of our thoughts every day are negative. I hear our students use phrases like, “I can’t read. I can’t do that math.” I want to give them something else to say. “I can’t read YET!” “I can’t do this math YET!” Below are a couple of videos I wanted to share. I hope you enjoy them.
Have an AWESOME weekend and I hope to see you sometime this week.
