Rose Smith, a top ten graduate this year at Nacogdoches High School, is also the first NHS student to obtain all five Microsoft Office Specialist certifications at one time.
Rose graduated last month ranked No. 9 in the Class of 2022 at NHS and will attend Stephen F. Austin State University in the fall. She was a student in Tim Odom’s Business Information Management class during the 2021-22 academic year.
Obtaining industry recognized certifications in the popular business software applications benefits soon-to-be graduates – both those entering the labor market or continuing on to college – by promoting their academic preparedness and demonstrating their workforce readiness.
Rose completed certification in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook, all Microsoft products.
“We are so proud of Rose,” said Debbie Crenshaw, a Business Teacher in the Career and Technical Education Department at NHS. “This is the first student in the history of Nacogdoches High School to obtain all five Microsoft Office Specialist Certifications, something that’s incredibly difficult to do.”
