There will be some student-made bowls available for sale during NISD’s Fine Arts Showcase on Saturday, April 13. The chili bowl cook-off was held Monday at Nacogdoches High School.
The cook-off also doubled as a fundraiser, with bowls created by NHS art students for sale. Half the proceeds from the fundraiser go to Nacogdoches HOPE (Helping Other People Eat) and half go back into the art program at NHS.
NHS art teacher Maranda Marshall’s students created 300 bowls that are up for sale. Many of them were purchased by high school teachers and student parents.
The Fine Arts Showcase takes place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Nacogdoches High School. All components of NISD’s fine arts program will be on exhibit; visual art projects will be displayed in the NHS commons area while performances take place in the auditorium.
