Toni Saucedo’s painting of a baseball player has been on display in Austin as part of the Texas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month State Capitol Exhibit.
Saucedo, a sophomore at Nacogdoches High School, is an art student in Carlene Higgns class.
The exhibit in Austin showcases Pre-K through 12-grade works from across Texas. After going on display at the State Capitol, the painting was shown in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum for the remainder of March.
Saucedo also received a score of 4 – the highest possible – on a painting submitted earlier this year in TAEA’s Visual Art Scholarship Event, a competition held for art students in Texas schools.
