Fifteen Student Response Team members from Nacogdoches High School qualified for the state competition that will take place next month. The students are in Monica Newberg’s law enforcement classes in the Career & Technical Education Department at NHS.
The Texas Public Safety Association state competition will be held April 25-27 in Allen.
The Building Search team of Diego Hernandez, Ximena Oliverso and Jessica Leon finished first in the regional competition last month. Edgar Reyes-Isidro was first in the Bunker Gear Race, and Gabriela Hernandez was first in Inmate Processing with a perfect score.
Hernandez and Jeeana Menefee finished second in Correctional Institution Design, and Keila Guardado finished second in Foot Pursuit. Janiyia Williams and Autumn Johnson were second in Disturbance Call, and the NHS S.W.A.T. team of Ali Razvi, Menefee, William Haynes, Taylor Gates, Sinh Sinh An and Emmanuel Garcia finished second. Emily Martinez finished third in 9-1-1 Call Taking.
