McMichael Middle School’s cheerleading squad won first place in the Class 5A/6A division at the Forest Festival competition over the weekend.
The McMichael squad of 21 cheerleaders learned the routine in about eight hours of practice over a three-day span then worked in the summer, evenings and on weekends, cheer coach Suzanna Sanchez said. Will and Hannah Patrick from Precision Camps & Choreo designed the routine for the McMichael squad.
“I’m so proud of what they’ve accomplished in such a little time,” Sanchez said. “The squad is a combination of girls who’ve participated in competitive cheer and those who have never cheered before, which is what makes this team so impressive.”
The McMichael team includes, Aaliyah Jackson, Addison Davis, Aubrey Jackson, Ashiah Bland, Bella Patton, Carlina Puffer and Eliza Boland.
Also, Hensley Hairston, Ja'Lyric Garrett, Jessie Bowser, Josie Scanlan, Kandace Jenkins, Khyleigh Wallace and Kyndall Lambert
Also, Leilani Lucena, Lydia Allen, Meredith Claire Pesto, Railey Clark, Ruby Runnels, Sarah Oliver and Talley Strickland.
