Improvements to heating and cooling systems are nearly complete at the 9th-Grade Center at Nacogdoches High School, which includes the competition gymnasium.
Units were updated and replaced with spending from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund, or ESSER, part of the billions of dollars allocated by the U.S. Congress to state education agencies to address the impact COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, on elementary and secondary schools across the nation.
Other NISD campuses have also been updated, and upgrades are planned for non-campus facilities in the district.
Equipment removed from the roof of the 9th-Grade Center and as well as ducts were hauled to the rear of the high school campus where they will be removed by the contractor.
