Dragon SRT team members for building search

Twenty–five members of the Dragon Student Response Team qualified for the state competition after a strong showing by Nacogdoches High School Feb. 15 at the Texas Public Services Association Region 2 contest in Whitehouse.

TPSA is a career and technical student organization that provides law, public safety, corrections and security students with real world career preparation, experience, training and competition opportunities.

Led by NHS instructors Jacob Rodriguez, Roya Dinbali and Laura Carroll, Dragon SRT teams collected five regional titles.

First Services

First place – First Responders (Joselyn Gonzalez and Alma Marines).

First place – Fire Agility Course Male (David Mendez).

Third place – First Responder (Ariana Garcia and Emily Santoyo).

Law Enforcement 

First place – Building Search (Addyson Gatwood, Alma Marines, Garrett White, Aylyn Zapatero).

Second place – Disturbance Call (Aleksa Gonzalez and Za'Tayvious Miller).

Second place – SWAT (Adorabella Bennett, Michael Diaz, Audree Gillespie, Diego Hernandez, Jessica Perez, and Tristan Vidrine).

Third place – Felony Traffic Stop (Adorabella Bennett, Karen Caporali, Za'Tayvious Miller, and Aylyn Zapatero).

Correctional Services

Second place – Cell Extraction (Noah Bradford, Michael Diaz, Audree Gillespie, Autumn Johnson, Violet Ramirez, Tristan Vidrine).

Forensics 

First place – Crime Scene Investigation (Karen Caporali, Arianna Lopez, and Cesar Zavala).

First place – Fiber Analysis (Maddox Findley and Kristen Shipman).

Third place – Bloodstain Pattern Analysis (Violet Ramirez, Kelsie Sanchez, and Emily Santoyo).
