Laurie Stamper has been named Director of Student Nutrition at Nacogdoches ISD. She replaces longtime director Robin Thacker, who resigned to accept a job closer to family in the New Caney area.
Stamper comes to NISD from Chapel Hill ISD, where she served as Child Nutrition Programs Director since 2021. Previously, she was the Child Nutrition Specialist for Region 7 Education Service Center in Kilgore, where she provided student nutrition assistance to more than 100 school districts.
Before that, she was Child Nutrition Programs Director at Lindale ISD. She’s also worked at Alvarado ISD and Texas College.
Stamper has a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Masters in Institutional Administration from Texas Woman’s University.
“We’re grateful to have Ms. Stamper on hand,” said NISD Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo. “Ms. Thacker did a great job managing all the challenges associated with a student nutrition department and we have a great staff in place, so I have no doubt Ms. Stamper has the experience and ability to continue the success in that vital department.”
