NISD school bus

It’s time! Registration for Nacogdoches ISD transportation for the 2024-25 academic year is now open (formulario en español haga clic aquí). Students must be registered annually to ride NISD buses, even if they were registered last year. Students who are not registered for bus service will not be scheduled on a route.

Registration will run through Friday, Aug. 2, when it will then be paused so routes for the new school year can be created. PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE AUG. 2. Students registered after this date will not be accepted for bus ridership until Monday, Aug. 26.

When going to the bus registration form, please complete the Google form as well as registering for SmartTag, the ridership app used by NISD. (There is a link to SmartTag in the Google registration form.)

Scheduled Riders

Parents and guardians will know once their child is registered because they will be able to view bus service logistics, such as pick-up time and locations in SmartTag.

Young riders

This is a reminder that students riding the bus and attending Pre-K through second grade are required to have a parent or guardian meet the student at the afternoon drop-off location.

Service Address

Students will only be scheduled to receive transportation service to/from one address. The student’s residence address will be the default service address. Student bus assignments and stop locations must be the same for both morning pick-up and after drop-off and consistent each day of the week.

Students will not be permitted to have a schedule that alternates between two residences in the case of shared custody.

Student Alternative Address/After School Care

To request an alternate service address, the parent or guardian must submit an affidavit from their student’s campus to the NISD Transportation Department. When submitting the affidavit, parents must also bring their ID.

Grandparent/guardian for drop-off must be located within the attendance boundary for the student’s campus and be located at an existing stop on an existing NISD bus route.

After school programs at Boys & Girls Club will not go into effect until B&GC opens for the new school year. Once B&GC begins its after school program, it is the parent’s responsibility to report to the NISD campus by 12 noon where their child needs to be transported in the afternoon.
