NISD will be hosting the hour-long event at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27, for Pre-K and Elementary students and their parents to help with support for early math learners. Family Fun With Math Night will take place at the Nacogdoches Recreation Center, 1112 North St. Dinner and refreshments will be provided.
NISD Math Coordinator Melinda Wiebold will lead the event while students and parents participate in math-related information to support parents’ understanding of the foundational skills necessary for student success as they move through the elementary grade levels. Wiebold will walk parents through activities that can be completed at home.
Parents who attend will be given the tools necessary for them to continue these activities as their students proceed through school.
Parents will have an opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback to district math administrators, and learn practical methods for helping their children learn basic mathematics.
