Nacogdoches High School cosmetology teacher Jan Holland was named the Area 3 Career & Technical Association of Texas Experienced Teacher of the Year.
Holland is in her 13th year teaching cosmetology at Nacogdoches High School.
“I'm truly humbled by this award and immensely thankful for the unwavering support of my students,” Holland said. “Their encouragement drives me to continuously strive for excellence and foster an environment where they can thrive.”
Holland will represent NHS and Region 7 in February at the CTAT Winter Conference. CTAT is an advocate supporting career and technical education programs and the professionals who lead them.
Holland is President-Elect for TIVA (Texas Industrial Vocational Association), which recently entered an agreement with CTAT in an effort to combine the groups’ efforts to promote CTE programs in Texas.
“I eagerly look forward to the upcoming interview process and hope to represent not just my school but also the collective dedication of educators in Region 7 who tirelessly work to shape the future through education,” Holland said.
