Volunteers helping parents at NISD's Parent Resource Fair

Nacogdoches ISD’s Parent Resource Fair with the Mexican Consulate on Wheels continues this week at the Nacogdoches County Civic Center.

Throughout the week, parent sessions are provided on the following topics:

  • ESC Region VII presenting migrant information

  • Nacogdoches Public Library showcasing literacy opportunities

  • Financial assistance insights from Commercial Bank of Texas

  • Alcohol and drug abuse prevention for students

  • Nacogdoches ISD programs and services overview

  • Recruitment for ESL classes for parents

  • Awareness of technology-related dangers

  • Understanding the risks of vaping and new law updates

  • Discovering the benefits of Bilingual and ESL programs

  • Assistance from the Mexican Consulate on Wheels

For the rest of the week, the Parent Resource Fair with the Mexican Consulate on Wheels will take place 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 30-31, and 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 1.

The event is scheduled during school hours to provide parents an opportunity to attend while children are in class.
