Phi Upsilon program helps out NISD students

Phi Upsilon Omicron is working with Nacogdoches ISD social workers to provide items needed by students during the school year. On Monday, the honor society within Stephen F. Austin State University’s family and consumer sciences program presented nap mats donated by Walmart to be used by pre-K students.

City of Nacogdoches, Tipton Ford, M&S Pharmacy and Lumberjack Harley-Davidson joined the program as sponsors. Additional campaigns will collect new socks and underwear to be donated to students, and gift cards will be donated to NISD social workers to assist student families.

Collection sites for new socks and underwear are located at Tipton Ford, 1115 North Street, Lumberjack Harley Davidson, 2518 NW Stallings Dr. and M&S Pharmacy, 917 E. Austin St.

Shown Monday at NISD Student Support Services are, from left, City of Nacogdoches Recreation Superintendent Vicki Schmidt, Nacogdoches ISD Parent & Patron Assistance Center Coordinator Erin Windham, NISD social workers Lauren Ivy Sieja and Keisha Tutt, Phi Upsilon Omicron advisor Jennifer Newquist and member Madison Teal, NISD social worker Ruby Ramon, Phi Upsilon Omicron advisor Donna Ficus and Vice President Tracey Estepp, Tipton Ford Marketing and Public Relations Director Tyrone Curl, Lumberjack Harley-Davidson Ambassador of Fun Kristina Taylor, NISD Student Support Services Director Dr. Audrey Young and Phi Upsilon Omicron President Sierra Smith.
