Antwi-Boasiako signs with SFA

Nacogdoches High School forward Nana Antwi-Boasiako is going to play basketball for his hometown school. The 6-foot, 9-inch senior signed a letter of intent Wednesday afternoon with Stephen F. Austin State University.

The scholarship signing ceremony took place in the old gym at Nacogdoches High School. A large crowd of students were on hand, along with TV and print reporters.

Antwi-Boasiako averaged 12.4 points per game during his junior season with the Dragons and grabbed 8.3 rebounds. Antwi-Boasiako blocked 159 shots and drained 35 percent of his three-point attempts during the Dragons’ 34-win season.

Over the summer, Antwi-Boasiako announced his decision to play basketball at SFA. In addition to the Lumberjacks, Antwi-Boasiako was recruited by Rice, Tulsa, New Mexico, North Texas, Sam Houston State, Texas State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Antwi-Boasiako is beginning his fourth varsity season with the Dragons and has been a starter for the team since his sophomore season. Nacogdoches High School is coming off a 34-win season.
