Four Nacogdoches High School students won first place in competitions last month at the Technology Students Association state conference.

The TSA team finished third overall, said CTE instructor James Mason, the highest finish since 2015, when NHS also finished third at the state conference.

Sam Jacobs won in CNC/CAM Laser Engraver (11 or more parts-experienced), Abigail Stokes won first place in CNC/CAM Laser Engraver (single piece rotary-experienced) and Iveth Hernandez won with a computer generated original drawing or painting – b/w experienced.

David Lebailif won in five categories: Materials - Pen/Pencil-beginner, Manufacturing Wood turning Pen/Pencil-beginner, Manufacturing - Wood turnings not exceeding 1 board feet – Beginner, Materials [OTHER MATERIALS] - Leather-Beginner and CNC/CAM [OTHER] Laser Engraver - 6-10 parts-Beginner.

Second place finishers included,  Jacobs, Stokes, Lebailif, Austin Dang, Jasmyn Torrez, Kathryn Kiplinger, David Conner Whitton and Isaiah Wright.

Third place finishers: Stokes, Jacobs, Lebailif, Jose Almendarez, Jeovanni Santiago-Marquez, Jose Garcia, Jason Martinez, Rafael Sifuentes and Jerry Moreno.

Fourth place finishers include Stokes, Ivan Blanco, Adrian Pitts and Jose Recendez.

Fifth place finishers: Stokes.

Seventh place: Monirith Heng, Meagan Coffee, Cameron Daniels, Matthew Clark and Iveth Hernandez.

Other students that competed in the state conference: Mackenley Johnson, John Kuder, Pablo Chavez and Taylor Watson.
